An excerpt from Weinmayr’s prologue, “I first met Art in Ruins at the 4th European Biennial of Fine Art Academies in Maastricht in the early nineties. The pair’s directness, intensity and critical insight made a big impact on me. My impression at the time was that the two artists were fascinated and probably fatigued by the paradox of critiquing the system while becoming more and more part of it.”
